"My Service Experience strengthened my relationship with Christ. It opened my eyes not only to poverty, but the Bible as well. It has inspired me to live the stories of gospel."
—Andrew Trares, I.S. Alumni

During our 7-10 day service learning trip for students, team members volunteer at International Samaritan project sites that serve families living in poverty on the rim of the city dumps in Guatemala, Honduras, Egypt, and other locations.

Service teams will:

  • Tutor and assist teachers at elementary and nursery schools.

  • Complete physical projects such as cleaning, landscaping and building.

  • Visit ecologically and culturally significant sites.

In preparation for this journey, every team member participates in a pre-departure orientation program sponsored by their local school, university or International Samaritan.

"This experience truly changed my life and my goals for the future. Now that I've seen the great need of our brothers and sisters in Central America, I want to earn my education degree and return to teach in a developing country."
